The expanded On Dock Rail at Pier-T at the Port of Long Beach now offers 16 tracks totaling more than 100,000 linear feet and can accommodate 174 railcars. The rail supports import/export activities at the mile-long wharf which can accommodate an unlimited number of large container ships. Under our long term, on-call contract with the Port, Smith-Emery provided quality assurance services for the project, including field inspection and testing for soils, steel, concrete, welding, as well as laboratory testing.
