Washington State Convention Center
Seattle, Washington

Description

The Washington State Convention Center is one of the Northwest’s premier meetings and events facility. This project focused on a 1.5 million-square-foot addition to the Center that included a new ballroom, flex space with an outdoor terrace, exhibit hall, and construction of a podium for future development in the area, an office building, and residential tower. The building’s façade is comprised of glass curtain wall with iconic elements to showcase the structure’s architectural design and complement the fabric of the downtown area. One unique aspect of this project for Smith-Emery was to oversee fabrication inspection and non-destructive testing at the fabrication plant in China, as well provide services for the Seattle project.
