Kaiser Redwood City Replacement Hospital
Redwood City, California

Description

The striking seven-floor, 280,000-square foot hospital was constructed to meet the new stricter, seismic safety standards mandated by the State of California. Smith-Emery provided special inspection and testing for the facility under OSHPD auspices. The new hospital features neuro-interventional radiology suites, neurological CT scans, and neuro-interventional imaging suites, and dedicated neurological and orthopedic operating rooms. The hospital’s two-story Central Utility Plant (CUP) is 16,000 square feet and contains three chillers, three boilers, Thermal Fluid Heating Skid, and three cooling towers.
